We now have a standardized duck/goose hunting opener in Manitoba. Foreign Non-Resident Waterfowl: Opener becomes September 24 every year! Ducks goes from 16 in possession to 24 in possession, daily limit remains at 8! Our primary hunting location is just north of Winnipeg, Manitoba near Oak Hammock Marsh game bird refuge (home of "Ducks Unlimited Canada"). Our second operation is located just south of Riding Mountain National Park in the pot hole capital of Canada. We offer fully guided hunting packages from 3-6 days. (Some hunters hunt three days in each location.) Fantastic numbers of Canada and Snow geese stage in our area during the fall migration. Duck hunting is excellent with over 100,000 ducks at the refuge on any given day in Sept and Oct. From past experience, the opening weeks of season are beyond belief with limits of geese being the norm. For those hunters who prefer full-colored Mallards and large geese we would suggest anytime from Oct 15 to mid November.
